Port Vale - Saturday the 24th of March
Millwall travel to Port Vale on Saturday knowing only a win will do to keep our very faint hopes of a Play-Off spot alive.
Port Vale are an established Division 3 (League One) side who had hopes of sustaining a Play-Off challenge this season but sadly for them have dropped from the chasing pack. Port Vale currently find themselves 12th, two points behind the Lions and nine behind the 6th Play-Off spot.
Former Vale striker Martin Foyle who now manages the side believes his teams hopes are finished. Speaking after their 3-2 defeat at home to Tranmere, he said; “At 2-2 I really thought we were going to win it, and we certainly didn't deserve to lose.
"The players had a real go. We had to win to give ourselves a chance of a late run at the play-offs, and that's what we went for.
"A draw would have been no use to us, and it was obvious that the fans could see the players were giving their all."
The Port Vale side should remain unchanged from that which lost to Tranmere last Saturday.
As for our side it’s hard to say what with the new signings announced in recent days. We suspect that Ryan Smith will come straight in on the left hand side in place of Tom Brighton whilst Chris Casement will take up Mark Phillips place on the bench.
One To Watch
Leon Constantine was plucked out of non-league football by Mark McGhee when we paid a nominal fee to bring him from Edgware Town to the Den in 2000. Constantine made just one league appearance for the Lions before he was released. Many thought he’d find himself back into semi-professional football but having worked hard and having remained committed he has made a career for himself out of the game.
Having had unsuccessful spells at Partick Thistle, Leyton Orient and Brentford the lanky front man found himself by at the seaside at Southend. It was here that he made a name for himself in 2003 as he went on to score 21 goals in 40 games. Spells at Peterborough United and Torquay United followed before he found himself at Vale Park.
He struck 12 times last season and currently leads the scoring charts for Port Vale this season with 20 to his name. Constantine almost joined Barnsley in January for £250,000 but the deal fell through.
Lanky and awkward he could pose a problem to Robinson and Shaw on Saturday.

Un-interesting Fact
Games against Port Vale are much remembered by Lions fans. The two Russians made their debuts against Port Vale whilst the visitors were also Port Vale when ‘Andy May’s Dad’ casually walked onto the pitch and sat down in the centre circle as a protest.
MISA Prediction
Lions too strong for Vale.
