Harris V Sherringham Can there really be one? I have stayed out of this debate as I like both the players and really find it hard to compare….. Lets look at the facts. Harris League goals for wall 96 Total goals for wall 101 Achievements elsewhere: Not a lot to be fair! Teddy Boy League goals for wall 93 Total goals for wall 111 Atonements elsewhere off the top of my head at least 51 England caps 11 goals, 3 Premiership titles, FA cup winner once and runner up once and 1 Champions league. Oh nearly forgot the Swedish 2nd division north title which he counts as his greatest honour. But this doesn’t tell the full story or does it? I don’t feel that the level the players played as is as important as the way they played, for example you can be a good player in the premiership but still not be the better than the best in the league 1. Am I taking anything away from Teddy hell no I have some of my best memories watching him score! Harris will always be a legend to me and as will Teddy, who would I rather have playing now well its got to be Harris. If both were the same age and in their prime well I think Teddy just shades it…. The most depressing bit for me is the not knowing what Harris would have gone on to achieve. I remember many a chat in the South stand about will he play for England and Man Utd (or 1 of the other big clubs) the sad truth is we will never know! Do I want Teddy to return next season NO but this is more to do with me general view that I say you never go back and not the fact that he plays for the scum! Elephantman
