MISA FC 4-6 West H*m (KUMB)
MISA slipped to their first defeat on Sunday to a well organised West H*m United side.
MISA had to do without Tom Prisley, Scott Chalk, Steve Dine, George Cummins, Robin Davis and Sam Vaux thanks to injuries/holidays etc. MISA had a bare 11 to start the game with and the team was chopped and changed about and it showed as West H*m raced into a 2 minute lead.
For the second time in as many weeks MISA had to chase the game. MISA slowly began to take control of the game and some slick passing brought a chance for new signing Terry who saw his shot saved by the keeper. James Willcocks saw a header flash wide from a corner whilst Neil Richardson blasted over from 10 yards.
The equaliser finally did arrive when a Nick Bone chip towards the edge of the box was flicked on by the head of Neil Richardson and it found the advancing Terry who nodded past the stranded keeper.
MISA continued to press with efforts from Nick Bone and James Dickson but it was West H*m who regained the lead. With half time approaching Neil Richardson equalised for the home side. A clearing header from Lee Harper found Neil Richardson who lifted the ball above the advancing defender before heading the ball forward into his path and volleying in from 10 yards.
By now two more players had arrived changes were made at half time.
MISA came charging out of the blocks and barely 5 minutes had been played before Darren Brown struck a superb 20 yard effort into the top corner to give MISA the lead for the first time in the game.
As the game progressed MISA began to tire against a side that play every week and have been together for some years. West H*m missed a glorious chance to equalise and had a blatant penalty turned down before they finally got back on level terms.
A 'mad' 10 minute spell followed which saw West H*m score three more goals to kill the game off. MISA continued to battle and Terry saw his header hit the post and cleared off the line whilst Nick Bone had an header go just over.
Daniel Hills saw a curling effort go wide before MISA were awarded a late penalty which James Dickson converted.
It was a good workout against a very capable side. With many players still to return the future looks bright for MISA FC.
