Doncaster 1 - Millwall 2 (Back to Report Lists) Sorry its not Big D Donny report. Where to start well we arrived early even after a blow out on the M1 (a quick tyre change that even an f1 team would have been proud of). We decided to head past the ground and find a pub it has to be said we stood out for 2 reasons 1 we never had 6 fingers and 2 we weren’t wearing a red and white strip…never have we seen a club so in colours although this wasn’t so much the case in the ground… The johnsons paint trophy was given a tour of the stadium and got a bigger clap from the Wall faithful than their own. To the game it kicked off and it was all them was this really the same team that had cruised past Forest and Swansea? Well nearly Lenny in goal (and he kicked straight almost everytime) Back 4 as expected Senda (started badly but got better) Craig (solid I get the feeling he could turn into a Rhino) Robbinson and Shaw (both excellent). Midfield saw the changes Brammer (Solid) and Dunne (waste of space) Williams (started on the right but then swapped with Harris) {excellent} Hackett (not at the races again) up front Harris as mention (Not at his best) and God Huberts (not great again). Donny had several chances but thankfully all ended up going well wide….we just couldn’t get into our stride. Eventually Donny took the lead ( I may well have been the only one but I thought it was clearly handball) Coppinger brought it down and fired in Lenny had little chance but I never miss a dig. Lenny pulled off a great save a little later…so credit where its due. Not a lot happened for the next 10 or so mins then we woke up and started to play. Williams pace look dangerous and he made his way into the middle half chances for Harris and Hackett and I think Williams went begging. God had a great chance and missed again with 10 mins till the break we got the break through Huberts crossed for Williams and a straight forward finish for the little man. Another chance just before half time cant remember who (may have been the big man). MISA reps well me, Simba, Elephantwoman and Leicesterwall travelled up no others seen….where were all the loyal ones any comment HPS or Dartford? The second half was almost all us… although you still felt in true Millwall way we might muck it up…. Huberts had the ball in the net about 5 mins on the ref blew for a fowl though. I don’t know how Big D remembers all the chances etc. I know Harris and Huberts missed chances and they had a couple. It started to look to me like a 1-1 draw had been arranged… then came Harris down the right and he crossed and yes the Great Dane was there with his boot to make it 2-1 there were a couple of half chances for them but to be fair with only 8 mins left to play we weren’t in any danger…. Special mentions I understand that despite the “its all ticket for away fans” they still sold tickets at the office on the day… Well done to the two police horses who guarded the wasteland that no-one was quite clearly going to cross….. Any Donny fan who might read this have a word with your fans and make up a few songs so you don’t have to keep clapping….oh and nice stadium… For all the regulars Big D is back next week…..
